The Miracles Of Holy Prophet S.A.W.W

A miracle is something that can only be performed through the permission and by the will of Allah Almighty. Miracles are sent only for the Prophets of Allah. Allah SWT sent many Prophets to guide mankind and give them miracles that show no one can do the things other than Allah Almighty. The nonbelievers rejected the call of Prophets and refused the claim that the Prophets were imposters. Allah SWT gives Prophets Miracles in order to support and give them credibility to show the people remarkable signs that these miracles were given to the Prophets with the divine message by the will of Allah Almighty.

2-Splitting of Moon into two pieces:

The non-believers in Arab were unhappy with the preaching of the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W that there was only One God. Arab considered them superior and they disliked the idea that all men were created equal and that the Arab men were not better than the black men. 

They went to the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W and argued that: 

“O Muhammad! If you are truthful then show us a sign. Split the moon for us into two parts”. 

The Holy Prophet S.A.W.W supplicates to Allah to grant Him this miracle. It was a time of full moon in a clear night sky in the middle of the month. The people gathered and waited in anticipation to see the miracle and their eyes fixed upon the moon. Allah SWT gave the command to the moon and the moon began to split. The moon slowly split until its two sides parted. The people in Makkah or even Bedouins from surrounding areas witnessed the splitting of the moon. This miracle affirmed the faith of those who already believe Muslims and brought conviction to those who had doubts and had wavering faith. Even after this great miracle, the disbelievers of Quraysh claimed that it was an illusion.

3-The Blessing of Multiplying the food and water:

The beloved Prophet of Allah Almighty also had given the miracle of multiplying the food and water. He S.A.W.W brought blessings to food and water by making a small supply of water and food enough or abundant for His companions. Once Holy Prophet S.A.W.W travelling with approximately 1500 men and they ran out of the water. They were thirsty and needed water to perform ablution. Holy Prophet S.A.W.W asked for whatever water they had left. Jabir brought a leather skin with only a few remaining drops of water in it.

The Holy Prophet S.A.W.W squeezed the water sac and prayed humbly. The water sac swelled up and Prophet S.A.W.W asked His companions to bring Him a large bowl. With His hand under the mouth of the water sac and the large bowl beneath His hand, the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W began pouring the water over His finger and the water continued to flow profusely. Suddenly the water started gushing between the fingers of Holy Prophet S.A.W.W like a fountain and all the men drank until their thirst was quenched and also, they performed ablution.

After migrating from Makkah to Madina, Holy Prophet S.A.W.W stayed at the house of Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari RA. Ansari RA prepared a meal for the Prophet S.A.W.W and Hazrat Abu Bakar RA. Holy Prophet S.A.W.W told Ansari to invite 30 men and due to the blessings from Allah SWT the 30 more men came and ate the food prepared for two people until they were satisfied. The pot was still full of food and again they shared the meal with 60 more men but again the pot was full and then they shared the food with 90 more men and there was still food left over for Ansari’s family. This was a great miracle that can only be granted to the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W by the will of Allah Almighty.

4-Mercy on Animals:

The Holy Prophet S.A.W.W is the Prophet of mercy not only for human beings but for all the creations. One of His miracles was to relieve a camel of its suffering. The Holy Prophet S.A.W.W was in the garden of a man in Madinah and there was a camel in that garden. The camel groaned and shed tears and cried out. The Holy Prophet S.A.W.W understood the camel’s language and wiped its tears and the camel became calm. The Holy Prophet S.A.W.W said to its owner:

“Do you not fear Allah in this animal which Allah has put in your possession? It has complained to me that you starve it and overwork it”.

5-Miracle of Rain:

Whenever the Holy Prophet SAWW supplicates for rain, the rain would fall. This is also a miracle that Allah SWT gave to His beloved Prophet S.A.W.W.

Another famous miracle of Holy Prophet S.A.W.W was that when He S.A.W.W gave the Friday sermon in the mosque of Medina He S.A.W.W used to stand by a date palm tree and sometimes leaned on its trunk. The son of an Ansari woman built a pulpit for the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W and when the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W allowed building the pulpit the date palm tree began to weep and sob. The Holy Prophet S.A.W.W went to the tree, rubbed His hand over its trunk to soothe it until it stopped crying. This was the miracle that the trees loved the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W and cried for Him.
